Questions

The things people ask before they buy.

If yours is not here, write to us — we answer within two working days.

Will the brass darken over time?
Yes, and that is the point. Unlacquered brass begins to shift within weeks and settles into a warm brown patina over six to twelve months. Hands keep the high points bright, so a piece ends up mapping its own use. Polish it back with a soft cloth whenever you want the original colour — both states are correct, and neither harms the metal.
Do you take commissions?
Regularly, and they are about half of what we do. Send dimensions, the metal you have in mind and your deadline; we quote a fixed price within two days. Anything above six pieces gets a sample first, posted to you before the run starts.
How long does an order take?
Catalogue pieces in stock leave the workshop within 5 working days. Commissions run 4 to 6 weeks depending on the queue, and we tell you the real date rather than the optimistic one.
Do you ship outside Morocco?
Anywhere in Morocco is MAD 90, insured and tracked, and free over MAD 3,000. Shipping outside Morocco is quoted piece by piece — write to us before you order and we will price it with the carrier. Duties and import taxes at the destination are the buyer’s responsibility.
What if something breaks?
Bring it back or post it back. We repair anything we made, free, for as long as we are at the bench — that includes pieces bought second-hand and pieces you damaged yourself. We would rather mend it than have you replace it.
Can I return something I have changed my mind about?
Catalogue pieces can be returned within 14 days of delivery, unused and in their packaging, for a full refund of the item price. Commissions and made-to-measure work are exempt, because they cannot be resold — which is why we sample before we run.
Is the copper safe for food?
Copper we make for food is tinned on the interior, which is the traditional food-safe lining. Tin wears through eventually; when it does, send the piece back and we will re-tin it at cost. The brass and bronze pieces are decorative and are not intended for acidic food.
Can I visit the workshop?
Thursday to Saturday, 10 to 18. Write ahead so that someone is at the bench rather than at the merchant when you arrive. There is usually something in the fire.
